Leadership Seminars

Known as teachers of the Word and equippers of leaders, Thurlow and Lynda Switzer have pastored saints and trained leaders for over thirty years. Living Grace Leadership Seminars equip, develop, and train believers in the context of congregational life.

Thurlow routinely works with pastors and organizational leaders as a Mobilized Church consultant. He coaches pastors and elders how to achieve ministry effectiveness and release God’s people into the ministry.

Listed here are the types of seminars that may be selected for the edification and equipping of the congregation workers, ministers, and leaders. The seminars are adjustable to a 3-hour, 5-hour, 8-hour depth, or 10-hour depth.  (Please contact us at info@LGMweb.org if you have any questions.)

The Apostolic Church: The Seven-fold New Testament Church Vision

Many believers privately ask, “How do I fit into the mission and ministry of the church?” This seminar uniquely presents a model integrating the seven operations of the church: the apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, and teaching functions, as well as the diaconal and elder/overseer functions. When one catches a vision of New Testament life, it is a transforming experience.

Blueprinting Mission: Developing Vision and Strategy for Local Church Ministry

This 8-hour seminar provides a perspective for leaders and leadership teams about how to plan ministry in all areas of local church life from nursery to adults. Often those leading internal ministries in the church suffer from not knowing how to develop a specialized ministry mission and vision in light of the pastor’s mission and vision. The seminar presents a unique and very practical plan valuable for lay ministry leaders, elders, and senior pastors.

Supporting the Vision of the House

This 2-hour popular seminar lays a biblical basis for understanding why and how people come to support the “vision of the house” in their local church.

Covenant Teamwork: Understanding the Principles and Dynamics of Leader and Followers

This 8-hour seminar provides an adequate understanding of the biblical and practical principles in the covenant of followers and leaders. It explores the practical principles of covenant life and teamwork as applied to the local church. This seminar strengthens the covenant relationship between leaders and followers. What does a follower look for in a leader? What does a leader look for in a follower?

The Calling and Making of a Leader: Jesus’ Pattern for Following God’s Call

This 5-hour seminar focuses on how to discern one’s calling, gifts, and motivations in ministry. A ten-fold “Kletos Calling Progression” shows how people come forth in discipleship and ministry. This presentation impacts every worker and leader in the local church. Your people will better understand and embrace the process of growth.

How Jesus Reproduced Leaders: The Master’s Model Discovered in the Four Gospels

Jesus said, “Go and make disciples.” This very popular, graphic, and analytical 8-hour seminar presents how Jesus made leaders, based on the facts and order of the pattern described in the Gospel of Luke. Luke was a member of the Apostle Paul’s team. He wrote to demonstrate the relevancy of Jesus’ methods to the apostolic work as he experienced it on Paul’s team.

The Diaconate Ministry: Servanthood Leadership and Service in the Local Church

Presents and carefully defines the function of deacon, the meaning of servant, the four levels of servant leadership, and the relationship between the diaconate and the Old Testament prototype of the Levite. It covers the training of lay ministers, ministries of compassion and mercy, and matters of practical administrative oversight.

Biblical Discipleship: The NT Pattern of Biblical Discipleship and Character Development

A thorough, down-to-earth biblical philosophy, plan and pattern for the discipleship and development of Christ-like maturity. Many churches are at a loss as to how to truly disciple people. Without vision people perish and without parameters people dwell carelessly. This seminar shows the way. Let’s disciple the biblical way.

Effective Communication: Interpersonal Communication and Conflict Resolution

Communication breakdowns inhabit and inhibit many a leadership team and local church. This seminar presents the wisdom of Peter, James, Solomon, and Jesus about competency in communication. It spells out the skills of listening and speaking that lead to mutual hearing and understanding. It helps people learn about conflict resolution and specific principles that produce unity.

Ministry and Marriage: Helping Local Church Leaders understand the Partnership Model

We have designed this 3-hour seminar for local church leadership couples and their need to understand the partnership model for marriage when they are pursuing ministry as husband and wife. It imparts wisdom and deals with the problems that affect the life of a couple together in ministry.

Principles of Restoration

The books of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi present eternal and essential elements of restoration for the Church of Christ and are relevant today.
