General Mission of LGM:
Preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God
by Thurlow J. Switzer

The general mission of Living Grace Ministries is the joy and privilege of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God to humankind. It involves taking God’s love and Christ himself to the world, in attractive, meaningful and transformational ways. All this is done with the motive to obey, exalt, glorify, satisfy and please God (Eph. 3:21).

Man’s redemption and perfection in Christ make possible the fulfillment of God’s plan for His glory. The central mission of the Church of Jesus Christ is reach the lost around the world with the gospel message of salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to disciple them to maturity in Christ. God has ordained the church to be His instrument of perfecting and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:7-17). Living Grace Ministries exists to disciple the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mt 28:19; Mk 16:15; Lk 24:47-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; Eph 3:14-21).

Kingdom evangelism is doing outreach God’s way. The theme is “Thy Kingdom come.” Jesus said: “The time is fulfilled, the Kingdom of God is at hand” (Mk 1:15).

First, we note that the King who rules this kingdom decisively and irrevocably invaded the earth through the incarnation of His Son. Jesus moved and ministered in the dynamic power of the Spirit of God.

Secondly, where the church is growing dramatically, the presence of the God is being manifested by the direct action of the Holy Spirit, signified by the healings, deliverance from demons and other miraculous works of God.

Thirdly, God is releasing His Holy Spirit in power, opening hearts to His lively presence, healing wounds past and present, and breaking compulsive and addictive behavior. He is drawing those poor in spirit into His presence by expelling our present darkness and recreating our fallen humanity.

Fourthly, since God is King and his kingdom is here and now for us, we no longer have to be blind subjects of deep-rooted unbelief, living at the beck and call of sensate or destructive experiences, carrying guilt for our misbehavior or misadventures. We are enabled to release our independent control of our lives, of other people, of our possessions, and other dimensions of life in contrast to being and experiencing loneliness in an empty universe.

Lastly, God’s kingdom is always expanding and includes those who have who have accepted His Headship. God’s kingdom is the sphere of His “received sovereignty.” Christ’s Lordship is genuinely acknowledged.
